Our Sahara trek takes us through the fascinating and vibrant Sahara desert, with its colourful dunes and gravel-covered plains. Along the way we’ll camp at oases, watch spectacular sunsets, and see gazelle, wild camels and mules, birds and insects. Along the way we’ll meet nomad families and learn more about their lifestyle and culture. In the evenings we’ll enjoy traditional meals by candle and starlight. As we make our way to our tents, we’ll marvel at the breathtaking expanse of stars. And, while we’re discovering everything the desert has to offer, we’ll also have time to enjoy the wonderful quiet of the desert.
Typical itinerary
We meet you on your arrival at Marrakech International Airport. Our first overnight stop is at the UNESCO Heritage ‘ksar’ (fortified city) Aït Benhaddou. Built entirely from adobe, it has hosted various movies, including Gladiator. Our next stop is the Dades Gorge – famous for its rock formation and roses. Then it’s on to Zagora. On the edge of the Sahara. Here we’ll meet our guides before being driven to our first overnight stop in the desert.
Our next few days are spent walking among some of the biggest dunes in the Moroccan Sahara. Crossing vast rock strewn plains. Following broad riverbeds, tens of metres deep in places, where once mighty rivers gushed forth. And across the impressive Jbel bani. With the odd tree here and there. Occasional ponds of water, and perhaps a sighting of oribi, wolf, and other animals adapted to the vast desert.
On our return from the desert, we spend a day-and-a-half in Marrakech, before moving on to the beautiful port city of Essaouira, where we spend the last night of our adventure.

About us
Our trips are all based on the simple philosophy: “The world is ours to explore. And when we explore we discover things we never knew. Broadening our horizon. And, as we discover, we’re mindful to take nothing but memories and pictures. Leave nothing but footsteps.”
We care about the environment! We care about the local people. Their community. The country they live in. We pay our guides competitive salaries, and plough profit back into providing professional quality equipment for our clients, and our support staff. That means money stays in the country to boost the local economy.
